I hear you and after I Posted I realized your fish-aversion also. I missed “Menkui Tei”–a quick glimpse made me think it was a Chinese Noodle Shop posing as a Japanese Ramen shop (who of course stole it from the Chinese to begin with).

Menkui Tei is a Japanese Ramen joint – it’s on the list. So, Boooooooooo to e-money for skimming the list and not reading carefully.

I love me some good steaks but I eat at steakhouses roughly once a year, and this post was really about the restaurants I frequent.

i think part of the reason we are such good friends is our passion for all kinds of yummy foods =) i agree with you on your list but i would also add Malecon on the upper west side. i love latin food and not that tex-mex bullshit. this restaurant is usually packed with latin locals. my fave is fried chunks of pork with beans on the side. the portions there are huge; one dish is big enough for two people.
