College is overrated. I'm sure its shaped me in ways I don't recognize, but I'm equally sure that it hasn't been worth 20k x 4 years either. The University system nearly ruins the lives of its graduates by putting them in a terrible finacial situation and they still have no guarantee of a job. My advice to high school students would be to learn how to learn on your own. A college degree doesn't entitle you to anything. If you're still okay with that, then go ahead and have a good four years. Just don't be surprised if you're still eating soup for dinner when you're 28. I completely agree. College is overrated.
